Marilyn King, the Last of the Singing King Sisters, Dies at 82

Marilyn King, the youngest and last surviving member of the swing-era vocal group The King Sisters, died Wednesday of cancer in Laguna Niguel, Calif. She was 82. King’s great-nephews are brothers Win and Will Butler of The Arcade Fire. The King Sisters, originally from Utah and founded in 1931, appeared in several films and released more than 150 records for labels including Blue Bird, RCA Victor, Capitol and Warner Bros. throughout the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.

MGM+ Series 'From' Renewed for Season 3

Horror drama From is returning to MGM+. The premium cable network, formerly known as Epix, has handed out a third-season renewal for the series starring Harold Perrineau. The series from creator/executive producer John Griffin and showrunner Jeff Pinkner (Lost, Alias, Fringe) ranks as the network’s second-most-viewed series in its history and trails only Forest Whitaker-led drama Godfather of Harlem. “The first two seasons of From captivated critics and terrified and engaged fans, who have formed a thriving online community that is trying to put the pieces together week by week as the secrets of the nightmarish town — and possibly beyond — are slowly revealed,” said Michael Wright, head of MGM+.

NBCs Nora OBrien dies on Parenthood set

Nora O’Brien   NBC shuffles its infront Tragedy struck NBC’s pilot “Parenthood” on Wednesday night when network vp drama Nora O’Brien died unexpectedly on the Berkeley, Calif., set of the show starring Peter Krause, Maura Tierney and Erika Christensen. Sources said O’Brien, a six-year NBC Universal veteran, died of a brain aneurysm. She was 44. “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of our beloved colleague Nora, who was respected and cherished by so many people in the entertainment community,” NBC’s top execs Ben Silverman, Marc Graboff and Angela Bromstad said in a joint statement.
