Brooke McCarter, 'Lost Boys' Star, Dead at 52

Brooke McCarter, who played the vampire Paul in the cult favorite The Lost Boys, has died. He was 52.

McCarter on Tuesday succumbed to alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic liver condition, according to a statement from his family posted on Facebook.

 

“Brooke was our loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend,” according to the statement. 

His friends and fellow actors commented on his passing, including Lost Boys co-star Corey Feldman, who tweeted the news was “very sad.” 

Another Lost Boys co-star, Alex Winter, also shared his condolences.

McCarter had roles in The Twilight Zone series and in the John Belushi biopic, Wired.
